PROJECT
HANUMAN RESTAURANT
LOCATION
DARWIN CBD
YEAR
2009
SCOPE
To undertake the design and fit out of the proposed new Hanuman Restaurant, with a focus on creating a captivating and functional interior space that embraces the cuisine whilst paying a subtle homage to restaurateurs' Chinese and Sri Lankan heritage. Hanuman has been in Darwin for many years and it was vital that the brand be reinvigorated without losing the very elements that have made it an iconic NT dining destination.
KEY ASPECTS
To provide a design that gives equal balance to the interior and outdoor dining experience.
The venue's interiors offer a balance of both Chinese and Sri Lankan design influences and maintain a subtle fusion of Southeast Asian styles without being cliché.
A polished concrete bar top that was created from a special mix of local aggregates including a generous helping of local Mount Bundy granite.
